Mistaya Canyon Hike

On our way back from Wilcox Pass, we made a quick stop at Mistaya Canyon. It’s an easy 1km out and back trail that leads you to a thundering river canyon, so it’s big bang for your buck.

The trail heads down on a gentle slope until it reaches the bridge that crosses the canyon.

Down slope.
Bridge. Sorry Little Bro, didn’t realize your first view of the canyon was just the inside of your hood.

The rock formations in this narrow and deep canyon was quite gorgeous. (Get it? Gorge-ous?)

  • Difficulty – easy
  • View – great view of a river canyon
  • Traffic volume – light
  • Facilities – we forgot to check for toilets
  • Overall score – 6/10 (by Rockies standards)
